01 - 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
→ Filling
02 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
03 - 24 pepperoni slices (optional)
04 - 1/2 cup pizza sauce
→ Topping
05 - 1 large egg, beaten
06 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
07 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
08 - Black food coloring or black olives for decoration
# Preparation steps:
01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll dough on lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut 24 circles using a 2-inch round cutter.
03 - Place a spoonful of pizza sauce, a sprinkle of mozzarella, and a pepperoni slice in the center of each dough circle.
04 - Fold dough edges up and pinch to seal into balls. Position seam side down on baking sheet.
05 - Brush each ball with beaten egg. Sprinkle Parmesan and oregano evenly on top.
06 - Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
07 - Allow to cool slightly. Use a fine brush with black food coloring or thin black olive strips to draw basketball lines on each bite.
08 - Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
