Ingredients

  • Beef: 1 (3 4 lb / 1.4 1.8 kg) chuck roast trimmed of excess fat
  • Seasonings & Pantry: 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) ranch seasoning mix (gluten free if needed) 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) au jus gravy mix (gluten free if needed) 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (optional to taste)
  • Add Ins: 8 pepperoncini peppers (whole jarred) 1/4 cup (60 ml) pepperoncini juice (from the jar) 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter cut into pieces

Instructions

Step 1:
Place the chuck roast in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Step 2:
Sprinkle the ranch seasoning au jus mix black pepper and salt (if using) evenly over the roast.
Step 3:
Arrange the pepperoncini peppers on and around the roast. Pour the pepperoncini juice over the top.
Step 4:
Dot the butter pieces over the roast and seasonings.
Step 5:
Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or until the beef is fork tender and easily falls apart.
Step 6:
Shred the meat directly in the slow cooker using two forks then mix with the juices.
Step 7:
Serve hot over mashed potatoes rice or on sandwich rolls.
